Provost's Welcome Message
I am delighted to welcome you to the Office of the Provost of the University of Cape Coast College of Health and Allied Sciences (CoHAS). CoHAS is presently made up of three schools, with nationally recognized programmes, a distinguished faculty, two affiliated Teaching Hospitals, (the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and Effia Nkwanta Teaching Hospital at Sekondi), and other locations that offer countless resources. CoHAS provides students with a rich educational experience that is second to none.
As provost and chief academic officer of CoHAS, I am responsible for providing strategic vision, leadership and management for the Academic Affairs of the college,which includes the Schools of Medical Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery, and Allied Health Sciences.
School of Medical Sciences
The School of Medical Sciences engages in the training of doctors at the undergraduate level, postgraduate programmes in the basic biomedical disciplines, research and also provides specialist medical care for patients at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
School of Nursing and Midwifery
The School of Nursing and Midwifery engages in the training of nurses at the undergraduate level, postgraduate programmes in the specialised nursing disciplines, post graduate programmes in Public Health, research, provision of nursing services for patients at the University hospital and at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital
School of Allied Health Sciences
The School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS) presently has seven departments (Department of Medical Imaging, Department of Medical Laboratory technology, Department of Optometory, Department of Sports Science, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Department of Physician Assistant Studies
